प्रियंका ने बताया कि उनका आगे का प्लान क्या है. इसके साथ ही उन्होंने बताया कि हॉलीवुड एक्ट्रेस और राइटर मिंडी कलिंग के साथ उन्हें फिल्म कैसे मिली. वोग को दिए इंटरव्यू में प्रियंका ने कहा, 'मुझे स्ट्रैट फेस कॉमेडी और मिंडी कलिंग बतौर राइटर बहुत पसंद हैं.' प्रियंका ने बताया कि कुछ समय पहले वे अपनी प्रोडक्शन कंपनी पर्पल पेबल पिक्चर्स के लिए आइडियाज ढूंढ रही थीं, जब उन्होंने मिंडी को कॉल करने और लंच पर मिलने का फैसला किया.दो घंटे और दो फिल्मों के आइडिया के बाद प्रियंका और मिंडी ने साथ काम करने का फैसला किया. अप्रैल 2019 में यूनिवर्सल पिक्चर्स ने उनका वेडिंग कॉमेडी फिल्म बनाने का आइडिया उठा लिया. इस फिल्म को मिंडी, राइटर डैन गूर के साथ लिखेंगी और प्रियंका के साथ इसमें एक्टिंग भी करेंगी. फिल्म की कहानी के बारे में प्रियंका ने कहा, 'फिल्म की कहानी मेरी शादी से आई है, जहां कुछ अमेरिकी लोगों ने एक बड़े महल में शादी देखी. वहां का खाना, परिवार, संस्कृति, कपड़ें और कॉमेडी जो शादियों में होती है.'

इसके साथ ही प्रियंका ने बहुत गर्व के साथ ये भी बताया कि उनकी इस फिल्म की पूरी कास्ट में साउथ एशिया के एक्टर्स होंगे. ये एक ऐसी चीज है, जिसे प्रियंका ग्लोबल पॉप कल्चर में खुद देखना चाहती हैं.

बता दें कि प्रियंका इस साल अपना बॉलीवुड कमबैक भी कर रही हैं. वो डायरेक्टर शोनाली बोस की फिल्म द स्काई इज पिंक में फरहान अख्तर और जायरा वसीम संग नजर आएंगी.
